21st Carnival of Socialism

The 21st Carnival of Socialism is now up over at the Mustard Seed.

This edition of the Carnival "focuses on South Asian politics as well as South Asian socialist and communist movements", and very interesting it is too.

It's always good to see the carnival stretching into new areas and new blogs, I'm always particularly happy to see blogs from beyond the UK and US - let's hope this trend continues. Over the last few issues the bar has been set very high.

Do check it out and the next C of S will be over at Socialist Unity on the 24th April.

Also a quick reminder that the week after will be the special MayDay edition of the Carnival so get thinking about your contribution now.

I'm glad to see you like the carnival. I've updated it adding one new link that for some reason I forgot to include in the original post.

Yes, very good Jack - although I've not worked my way through all those posts yet!

Are you guys really in favor or Soviet style communism?

Jim Jepps said...

I'm not Todd, and I doubt the majority of posters here would be either...

No, todd, most here will not be in favor of soviet style communism. I know i personally am not.

What a weird comment by Tod, not only that but in one of his blogs he states that Clinton and Obama have "deep seated Marxist tenancies." Eeeerrrrr?

Just an FYI, I finally got all my stuff moved over so could you change the link for Carnival 6 to

http://roterbaron.wordpress.com/2006/07/09/carnival-of-socialism-6-orig-posted-blog-city/

that'd be grand.

As for Todd's comment, one has to bear in mind that anyone who has listened to the propaganda that passes for news in the US and has not had a counter-balance would probably think anyone to the left of the centre line is a Stalinist and that Clinton and Obama being the most left-wing out of the candidates on offer (!) must skirt close to that line.

I find the political compass's charting of the US Pres elections quite interesting tho' I'm not sure Nader is quite as much of a comrade as they plot but he is the most left-wing by miles.

Emit - thanks - however the full link got cut off could you post the end part again? Ta

Yeah, I always thought Clinton was a commie - I mean it's soooo obvious surely?
